Open Door is an all volunteer organization that provides a free community
meal to individuals and families who need or want to gather for a meal and socializing. Everyone is welcome. It is a social time with piano playing, singing, seeing old friends and meeting new acquaintances.

It is organized by a Natick family, Vinny and Sally Tingley. It was founded by Joan and John Bace, in 1986, when it was based at St. Paul’s Church.

Meals are served every Monday (September – June), at the Natick Elks Club, 95 Speen Street. Local church groups, Natick Rotary, and other volunteers sign up to provide the meal for approximately 60 residents of Natick and the surrounding towns. Often, middle and high school students help with preparations and serving. All sit down and enjoy the meal together.

FCC Natick has signed up for Monday, September 16  to prepare the meal. We will prepare: meatloaf, green beans almondine, mashed potatoes, dinner rolls, salad, and dessert. Most of the meal (e.g., meatloaf) is prepared ahead and brought to the Elks at 5 pm. Other parts, like salad, warming rolls, can be done there at 4:30 pm. The meal is served at 5:30 pm, followed by dessert. Everything is cleaned up by 6:30 pm.

Our next Open Door dates are:

  • Monday, November 25
  • Monday, January 20
  • Monday, March 17
  • Monday, May 19.
