Seasonal Events at FCCN
November 30 - January 4
Advent, Christmas, vigil and song
Sunday, Nov. 30, 10:30 am, “What do you fear?”
Join us for morning worship, onsite and online, as we begin the season of advent, the four weeks leading up to Christmas. This year, we are daring to name our fears – and at the same time discovering hope. After worship those onsite are invited to gather in front of the church to light the outdoor advent wreath, that we might shine a light of hope to the whole community.
Sunday, Dec. 7, 10:30 am, Communion
Advent continues, as we gather at the communion table. Even in the midst of fear, we find strength in each other, and in the presence of God we find at the table.
Sunday, Dec. 14, 10:30 am. 3rd Week of Advent
As Christmas comes nearer, we hear the story of Jesus’ father, Joseph, and the struggles he faced. We hear how he dealt with his fear.
Sun., Dec. 14, 5 pm. 12th Interfaith Community Vigil
For loved ones who struggle or have struggled with substance use.
Sun., Dec. 21, 10:30 am, A Super Christmas Pageant
We gather to hear our children and youth tell the classic story of the struggles of a young couple and the birth of a baby many years ago in a stable in Bethlehem. This year that story also includes a cast of superheroes who may just help us see that our best superpower is LOVE! Following worship, those onsite are invited to join us for a special coffee hour!
Christmas Eve Candlelight Worship
Wed., Dec. 24, 7 pm
We gather together to tell stories, sing carols, and light candles that bring hope, peace, joy, and love to the world!
New Year’s Brunch and Communion
Sun., Dec. 28, 10:30 am (on site only)
As one year comes to an end, and we welcome the year to come, we meet each other around the table. Folks are invited to gather in the vestry for morning worship, where we will share songs and stories, food and laughter. We will share brunch as well as the sacrament of communion. A “classic” FCCN worship service will be livestreamed for those worshipping from home. See the Link for more details and to RSVP.
Sun., Jan. 4. Joint UCC Epiphany Service
Area United Church of Christ churches join together in a special epiphany communion service. Details TBD
